Dear Colleagues,
As the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing & Medical Technology, Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University and Chair of the conference, it is a privilege for me to welcome all of you to the 1st International Nursing Conference in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam on December 5-6, 2014. This exciting Conference is entirely dedicated to the celebration of the 25th establishment anniversary of Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University, the 3rd establishment anniversary of Faculty of Nursing & Medical Technology, and especially to prepare professional nurses to work together for promoting health for people in the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.
The Faculty will co-operate with Ministry of Health, Vietnamese Nursing Teacher Branch, Vietnamese Nursing Association in HCMC, Department of Health in HCMC and other partners in ASEAN countries and other countries to celebrate the Conference entitled “Nursing innovation: A key to promote the Humanized Health in ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Era” that will be held on December 05-06, 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Three tracks of this conference are Nursing Education and Training, Nursing Practice, Nursing Management and Health Policy.
The main objectives of the conference are to provide a foundation for nurses and health care providers from different cultures and backgrounds to share their experiences, best practice applications and recommendations for clinical practice, nursing administration, nursing education and public health care policy to improve quality of nursing care to people in AEC Era. In addition, it would be a good opportunity for nursing leaders nursing lectures, nursing students, nurse practitioners, and other health care providers in ASEAN countries and other countries to establish a sustainable international network for promoting collaboration in the study of nursing research, education, practice, and management. Furthermore, we have invited renowned professors in their field to be keynote speakers. There are concurrent sessions devoted to the theme of the conference. To benefits those who are in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time, the sight-seeing tours are arranged.
I believe that this two-day event will be the platform to encourage and facilitate partnerships, collaborations, and information sharing around nursing profession’s issues. I therefore hope that this event is an enriching experience for all participants.
