UNAIDS is the UN Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS. We work with the government, civil society, donors and the UN agencies to support an expanded national response to the HIV epidemic in Indonesia. Our work focuses on coordination and advocacy. We do not implement projects.

We offer one internship for 3 months to fresh Indonesian graduates who would like to participate in the work of UNAIDS. Interns with UNAIDS are able to deepen their understanding of its goals, policies and activities, and gain valuable experience working within an international organization. However, interns should not expect that this would likely lead to a UN programme officer job. Interns need to have good English skills.

There is no age requirement, but applicants need to be graduates with BA or BS or similar degree within the last 6 months in a relevant area. These areas could include: social sciences, management, public health, communication, English, or similar areas. He or she should not have previously held a full time regular job.

This is a full time position, and UNAIDS interns are not allowed to have other paid employment. The successful intern will receive a small monthly allowance to cover transport and lunches.

The next UNAIDS internship will be from early January – end March 2011.

Anyone meeting the above requirements is welcome to apply. The UNAIDS Intern TORs are attached.
