CMB Scholarships for ASEAN Scholars to Participate in the 3rd Global Symposium on Health Systems Research, Cape Town – 29 September to 3 October 2014
The 3rd Global Symposium on Health Systems Research and its side events will be organized in Cape Town, South Africa from 29 September to 3 October 2014. China Medical Board (CMB), a U.S. based foundation working to promote health development and medical education in China and in Asia, is now providing a number of scholarships to support up to 15 scholars from ASEAN countries to attend the 3rd Global Symposium. Selected scholars will receive financial support to cover the registration fee, cheapest economy class air tickets to Cape Town, and per diem for accommodation and food during the Symposium period. The CMB Scholarships for the 3rd Global Symposium on Health Systems Research is managed by Faculty of Public Health, Khon Kaen University in collaboration with HealthSpace.Asia [1].
Eligibility
Only nationals of ASEAN countries are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to applicants who are already accepted for Oral or Poster presentation at the Symposium. For non-presenters, priority will be given to and to citizens of countries in the Greater Mekong sub region (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam and applicants who have contributed to HealthSpace.Asia or young scholars who have been actively working on health policy and systems research or policy development.
Obligations and Conditions
Selected scholarship recipients will be required to:
- Attend the Symposium throughout the Symposium period
- Share new knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned from the Symposium on the HealthSpace.Asia website such as a daily blog or regular updates.
- Join a HSA get-together event at the Symposium to be organized by CMB/HealthSpace.Asia (details will be provided later)
Application process
The Application Form is provided below. Applicants who agree to the obligations and conditions specified above should submit the form to admin or tc@healthspace.asia under the subject “CMB Cape Town Scholarships”. The deadline for application is Sunday 20 July 2014. The list of scholarship recipients will be posted on HealthSpace.Asia by 31 July 2014. Only selected applicants will be contacted by us.
