Research that generates new knowledge about a phenomenon or validates existing knowledge.
Evidence-Based Practice Sessions
Evidence based practices that utilizes research findings, quality improvement data and other forms of evaluation data to identify methods of improvement.

- Impact of nationally recognized designations on patient outcomes or nursing care (i.e. Magnet, Studer, Baldridge, American College of Surgeons, American Heart Association, The Joint Commission, etc.)
- Promoting Clinical Outcomes
Excellence in Educational Research Award
The Excellence in Educational Research Award, a program of the Sigma Theta Tau International/Chamberlain College of Nursing Center for Excellence in Nursing Education, will be presented at the 26th International Nursing Research Congress in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The award will be given during the opening plenary session, on 23 July 2015.
The top-scored abstracts in the nursing education category that meet the following criteria will be considered for the award.
- The scope is multinational and/or multisite and cites global or multinational implications.
- The impact is on nursing education science or nursing education theory development research.
- The design is robust in methodology and scientific.
- The results are significant, relevant, and topical.
- The strategies are innovative and creative.
