Ferry Efendi Becomes Vice President of CASE: REACH and CASE Unite to Set New Standards for Scientific Journals in Asia

Ferry Efendi, SKep., Ns., M.Sc., PhD, has been elected as the Vice President
of the Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE). Ferry will serve from 2024 to
2026. Before being elected as Vice President, Ferry first served as the
Chairman of the CASE External Relations Committee from 2022 to 2024. In his new responsibility, Ferry will collaborate with the President of CASE to realize
the main mission. “Of course, I will assist and collaborate with the
President of CASE on several key focuses and main missions,” he said.
These missions include improving editorial standards of scientific journals,
carrying out educational and training missions, fostering international
collaboration, advocating policies, and achieving diversity and inclusion.

The hope is that REACH and CASE can build a close partnership to achieve
common goals. With strong synergy, REACH hopes to support CASE in improving editorial standards and the quality of scientific journals in Asia.
Additionally, through this collaboration, it is expected that more
opportunities for education, training, and professional development for editors
and researchers in the Asian region will be created. The sustainability of
international cooperation and policy advocacy is also a key focus, with the
ultimate goal of creating an inclusive and diverse environment in the
scientific world. REACH and CASE are optimistic that with solid cooperation,
the vision and mission can be well realized for the advancement of the
scientific community in Asia and the world.
